About Border Collie HQ

Welcome to Border Collie HQ! My name is Sarah Hill Maddocks, and Border Collies are at the heart of everything I do. As a Border Collie breeder, behavior specialist, Licensed Family Dog Mediator LDFM-BR, and Certified Professional Dog Trainer CPDT-KA, I am committed to helping owners and their dogs thrive together with the latest in science-based training, behavior solutions, and responsible breeding practices.

My Border Collie Journey

My deep passion for Border Collies began over two decades ago with Max, the most wonderful BC EVER, and continues today with the five amazing Border Collies we live with and train daily. I began my journey breeding Border Collies (BC’s), after overcoming a medical challenge and being guided by my service as an Air Force Nurse (Retired) and Nursing Educator, hoping to help others through my dogs. My love story, with both my husband and our dogs, grew alongside our breeding program. In our breeding program, we prioritized sound health, stable temperament, and the unique character traits that make Border Collies truly exceptional.

My years of hands-on experience in Border Collie training, behavior, and breeding revealed a major need: people wanted not just a beautiful dog, but a true partner they could understand and live with. Today, I focus my efforts on education, consulting, and supporting Border Collie owners and Breeders at every stage of the journey.

The BCHQ Philosophy & Expertise

Border Collie HQ is owned by Field Stone Border Collies (FSBC) Behavior and Training and delivers practical, evidence-based information on Border Collie care, dog behavior, and family dog mediation using the L.E.G.S.® Model. My behavior consultation practice approaches every dog as an individual, examining the “why” behind behaviors and building training plans that respect natural instincts, breed needs, and best practices in canine development.
